Magpie – More than a bird to the Arrernte people
One of the stories from the Eastern Arrernte is about when the people first moved into the land and had to learn to live in the environment. The Arrpwere (Magpie) was one of the benevolent spirits that showed the people how to find food and water and warned them about flash floods and bad weather. Unlike the Angepe (Crow) that played tricks on the people.
That philosophy: working with people to help them to achieve better outcomes for the communities (of interest) is at the heart of the Arrpwere business. I want the company to be positioned as a trusted partner to our customers, always putting our customers first.
